Irrelevant Corrections at the Quantum Hall Transition

چکیده
The quantum Hall effect is one of the most extensively studied topological effects in solid state physics. transitions between different states exhibit critical phenomena described by universal exponents. Numerous numerical finite size scaling studies have focused on exponent $\nu$ for correlation length. In such it important to take proper account irrelevant corrections scaling. Recently, Dresselhaus et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 129}, 026801(2022)] proposed a new ansatz, which they applied two terminal conductance Chalker-Coddington model. this paper their proposal our previously reported data Lyapunov exponents that model using both polynomial fitting and Gaussian process fitting.

Conductance fluctuations at the quantum Hall plateau transition
We analyze the conductance fluctuations observed in the quantum Hall regime for a bulk two-dimensional electron system in a Corbino geometry. We find that characteristics like the power spectral density and the temperature dependence agree well with simple expectations for universal conductance fluctuations in metals, while the observed amplitude is reduced. In addition, the dephasing length LF...
متن کاملQuantum hall plateau transition at order 1/N.
The localization behavior of noninteracting two-dimensional electrons in a random potential and strong magnetic field is of fundamental interest for the physics of the quantum Hall effect. In order to understand the emergence of power-law delocalization near the discrete extended-state energies E(n) = Planck's over 2piomega(c)(n+1 / 2), we study a generalization of the disorder-averaged Liouvil...
متن کاملPercolation, Renormalization and the Quantum-Hall Transition
In this article, I give a pedagogical introduction and overview of percolation theory. Special emphasis will be put on the review of some of the most prominent of the algorithms that have been devised to study percolation numerically. At the central stage shall be the real-space renormalization group treatment of the percolation problem. As a rather novel application of this approach to percola...
متن کاملBinding Transition in Quantum Hall Edge States
We study a class of Abelian quantum Hall (QH) states which are topologically unstable (T-unstable). We find that the T-unstable QH states can have a phase transition on the edge which causes a binding between electrons and reduces the number of gapless edge branches. After the binding transition, the single-electron tunneling into the edge gains a finite energy gap, and only certain multi-elect...
